All done (just about!)
After a long night of assembly and testing, here we have it : a working amp! 6V6s are sitting at about 240V, 12SN7 about 90, and no buzz at all!

Tharrr, she glows
Albeit on a preliminary test-bed of assorted wires, vice-grip devised heatsinks etc. but it fired up! The horrid buzzing I heard last night during HT testing was actually just a floating input, causing a ground loop and the dreaded 'URmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm'.

Lots of fuss about nothing! Either way, the 6v6s are pottering away happily at 260Vrms. It's surprisingly loud actually, really wasn't expecting it, or the low end frequency response!
I've only got some shite Volvo speakers on it for the time being (not blowing up my Rainbows on testing!) but there is definitely punch in there.
There is no audible hum, and I mean it, with my ear against the speaker. There is also no volume control, so it's going 100% permanently until I put my stepped attenuator in there...so if it's not making noise we're good to go!

From the start...
Hi,
I started building this amp about a month ago, for my practical project - we could build whatever we wanted, within reason, and I had always wanted to build a valve amp. So...!
I found the design on www.boozhoundlabs.com and transposed it to Protel 99SE, and laid out the PCB, converted it to Gerber files and made for the brand new PCB prototyping machine (€25k...) in college and set about milling it. Some three hours later...it came out. Perfect.
Here's as far as I've got...just need to build a case now!!
